Become An Essential Part In Our Patient's Lives

Volunteering just an hour or two a week can make a huge impact in the lives of those that are in hospice care and their loved ones. Many times it isn’t the patients that find joy in the volunteers; it’s the volunteers that find fulfillment in their part.

Often times, our volunteers are prior caregivers or family members that had their own loved ones in hospice care. They are moved so much by their experience, they want to pay it forward to the next family.

Volunteers Can Change Lives

Community Healthcare Professionals welcome volunteers of all ages, faiths, and backgrounds. The need is always there, and the emotional and spiritual rewards can be profound. Volunteers assist in fulfilling our mission and add great value to the experience of the patients and families we serve.

While rewarding, our volunteers must have a good understanding of hospice services, as well as the hospice philosophy of care taught during training. Finally, hospice volunteers should be non-judgmental and respectful towards patients and their families.

Some examples of things our volunteers do include:
  • Spending time with a patient, allowing family members a period of time away from home for respite or errands
  • Read and sing to the patient
  • Make phone calls to the patient
  • Aid a patient in writing a journal, drawing, or some other way of expressing himself or herself
  • Deliver items to the patient
  • Provide general clerical and administrative work essential to serving patients promptly and effectively

Caring Is What We Do

At Community Home Health, our goal is to give you or your loved ones the tools and resources to help control your sickness, achieve your health goals, and live life to the fullest based on your doctor’s orders and clinical needs. Wherever you or your loved one call home, our team of skilled home health nurses, home health aides, and physical, occupational, or other therapists will make regular visits to provide health care services.

Make A Difference In Someone's Life!

Volunteering at Community Healthcare is a rewarding way to enhance the lives of our patients and their families. Our trained volunteers play a crucial role in our team’s approach to patient care. Some help families by running errands, preparing light meals, or sitting with patients so that caregivers that have been tirelessly helping them get a much-needed break. Some can offer specific professional or clerical skills, while others bring only a desire to serve.

We invite you to take some time to volunteer with Community Healthcare Professionals. Time with our patients is when we begin to deeply understand that who we are is a gift to be given. It is a time to see the truth and reality that our patients are a treasure to be received in a delicate exchange. Whether you have an hour a month or several hours a week to give, we have a volunteer opportunity tailored to fit your schedule.

Volunteers must be 18 years or older. Please know that not all applications can be accepted to volunteer. We go through each application, and if we feel you are a good fit for our patients, we will give you a call to tell you about the next steps.
